Root Canals

Root canal endodontics Spear educational video

A root canal is needed when the nerve and/or the base of the root(s) of a tooth become infected. This procedure allows one to save and maintain their tooth. A small access is created on the biting surface of the tooth and a series of files are used to clean out the roots. Cleaning solutions are used to ensure that the root canals are as flushed out as possible. Finally, a biocompatible filler is placed to seal off the root structure.

Once completed, a filling, post, crown or a combination of these are used to restore the access point of the tooth and protect the remaining structure.

  • Best dentist I have ever been to! I just moved to Buffalo and I have never been to this dentist before. I called them with an emergency painful tooth. Without question they got me in right away, made sure that my insurance covered the visit for me. Diagnosed the problem and were able to take care of the problem all in the same day. My out of pocket was the cheapest I have ever had at the dentist! The staff and everyone there was extremely courteous and very friendly.
